NERVE BLOCKS
Nerve blocks are used to diagnose the source if pain temporarily blocking nerves and observing how a patient reacts. The information gained from a nerve block can help a doctor determine the cause of pain, and how to best treat it. Nerve blocks can also provide temporary pain relief and reduce inflammation. However, they are not expected to permanently resolve pain.
EMG & NCS
Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) are diagnostic tests used to evaluate the health and function of muscles and nerves. EMG involves inserting a needle electrode into muscles to record electrical activity, while NCS measures the speed and strength of electrical signals traveling through nerves.
EEG TESTING
The Electroencephalogram (EEG) test is a non-invasive test that records the brain's electrical activity to help diagnose traumatic brain injury (TBI). EEGs are often used to: identify early signs of TBI, determine the severity of a head injury, predict the likelihood of recovery and the likelihood of post-traumatic seizures, establish a diagnosis of non-convulsive status epilepticus.
VISION TESTING
The RightEye vision test uses a specialized camera to track eye movements as a patient focuses on visual stimuli on a screen. The test measures how the eyes react to changes, follow objects, and maintain focus. This test can help assess and restore functional vision after a TBI.
BALANCE TESTING
The balance test is a common test that measures postural stability by having patients stand in three positions for up to 20 seconds with their eyes closed. The patient's balance is assessed on a firm surface and on foam, and the evaluator counts the number of errors the patient makes.
Treatments
IMS
Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) is a therapeutic technique used to treat chronic pain and muscle dysfunction by inserting fine needles into tight or tender muscle bands. This method aims to release muscle tension, improve circulation, and alleviate pain by stimulating the muscle's natural healing response.
SCALENE BLOCKS
Scalene Blocks can treat thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS). Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a condition caused by the compression of nerves, blood vessels, or both in the thoracic outlet, the space between the collarbone and the first rib. Symptoms can include pain, numbness, and weakness in the shoulder, arm, and hand.
PLATELET RICH PLASMA
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are a biologic therapy that uses a patient's own blood to stimulate healing. The process involves drawing blood and using a centrifuge to separate the blood components and increase the concentration of platelets. The resulting PRP contains platelets, growth factors, and cytokines, and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Sciatica Relief with Epidural Injections
Sciatica relief with epidural injections involves administering corticosteroids directly into the epidural space around the spinal nerves. This treatment aims to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain caused by sciatic nerve compression, often providing significant but temporary relief from symptoms.
Spinal Facet Joint Injections
Spinal facet joint injuries involve damage to the small joints between vertebrae, causing pain and limited mobility due to inflammation and irritation. These injuries often result from trauma, degeneration, or repetitive stress. Treatments for this include facet joint blocks.
Radiculopathy
Cervical radiculopathy, or a pinched nerve in the neck, occurs when a nerve is compressed or irritated, leading to pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness radiating from the neck into the arm. Common causes include herniated discs and degenerative changes in the cervical spine. This condition can be treated with epidural injections.
MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING
Mental Health Counseling can help with concussions. Symptoms of a concussion can include headaches, confusion, dizziness, and memory problems. They can have serious effects and require proper management and rest for recovery.
Prolotherapy
Prolotherapy is a regenerative injection treatment that involves injecting a solution, often containing dextrose, into injured or weakened joints, ligaments, or tendons. The goal is to stimulate the body's healing response, promoting tissue repair and reducing pain.
RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION
Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive procedure that uses heat from electrical energy to destroy abnormal tissue. A catheter is inserted and guided to the target area, delivering the energy. It is commonly used to treat chronic pain, arrhythmias, and tumors with minimal recovery time.
